BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - No injuries have been reported following a fire that took place Wednesday evening in Bettendorf.

Fire crews were called to the 3000 block of Moencks Road just before 7:30 p.m., for a report of a fire. Once crews arrived they learned the homeowner was preheating the grill when the fire began and called 911.

He told officials he had heard a loud noise coming from the grill or propane tank and looked outside to see flames on the outside of his home. He and a friend were able to exit the area uninjured.

The fire was extinguished and a cause has not been determined at this time.

The fire caused an estimated $60,000 in damages.
