EAST MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - UPDATE: The East Moline Police Department has arrested Samuel James, 31, of East Moline in connection to this incident.

Police tell TV6 they received about half a dozen tips regarding his identity after TV6 aired the weekly Crime Stoppers segment.

James was arrested Wednesday. He’s currently charged with felony theft.

ORIGINAL: The East Moline Police Department is investigating the theft of a cash register from Leisure Time.

It happened at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday. The suspect was seen on video opening the register without success before unplugging the register and taking it.
