NBC’s Summer Olympic Games will preempt the live broadcast of Bix 7 coverage on TV6 but viewers can watch it on The Circle or KWQC.com. Here's a primer on how to watch all the Bix 7 events starting Thursday, July 22, with the Brady Street Sprints.
The race will begin at 8 a.m. for Quick Bix and Bix 7 participants in place by 7:45 a.m. The course’s starting map, which you can find below, shows you can enter the staging area only from River Drive, 2nd Street or 3rd Street.
Since the 46th running of the Quad City Times Bix 7 had to go virtual, TV6 dug into the archives to put together a special retrospective on its history, the runners, and how the community has created a one-of-a-kind road race.
While the Quad City Times BIX 7 race didn’t gather thousands of people in one place like in decades past, many had fun still running the race and partaking in the fun and memorable tradition virtually.
One of the top runners in the world is in the Quad Cities ahead of the Quad City Times Bix 7. Caroline Chepkoech Kipkirui is a long-distance runner who has competed in competitions around the world and is ranked number 2 in the Women's Road Running. And today she did something she says she's never done before a competition. She went for a run with a local high school team in the city where she is competing. KWQC's Sarah Jones was there as the world-class athlete ran with Davenport Central's cross country team.
